Our Purpose
A Journey Thru Education, Inc. was founded to bring the finest experience possible in Cultural Exchange for both the Students and Partners from countries in Europe and South America and the Host Families throughout America.
The Department of State's J-1 and F-1 programs are an amazing opportunity to bridge the differences of cultures and and gain a better understanding of the people of our world.
We anticipate hosting about 75 to 100 students this upcoming spring 2024 and the 2024-25 scholastic year and growing at a steady rate each year thereafter.

Our Vice President of Operations, Bill Ogilvie, studied business, marketing, art, Botany and Geology in college. He has worked in housing, and swimming pool design and construction as well. His entrepreneurial spirit has served him well through the years. He began his cultural exchange experience by hosting students for a summer travel program and went on to host students for academic school years. Bill recalls this as being some of the most memorable times of his life. He is still in touch with many of the students that he has either met or hosted over the years. They are from all over the world, including Slovakia, Italy and Thailand. Belgium, Spain, France, Japan and China. Bill is well-known as the "ultimate host dad" by all his students! He has been instrumental in helping form and maintain this organization using his artistic skills in design.

Our Vice President of Personnel Development and Finance is Brooke Iliff. Brooke completed her degree in Communications from California Lutheran University and has worked in Education as a teaching assistant and substitute teacher and owned a tutoring company for seven years in California before moving to Georgia. She has been around cultural exchange since the age of 3 when her family hosted and has worked in the industry for the last 8 years. She specializes in content creation, training staff and local coordinators, and supporting our local coordinators out in the field. She also runs our accounting and HR departments and helps with admissions.

Joseph William “Bill” Brookes

A Journey Thru Education suffered a huge loss on February 13, 2024 with the passing of our
dear friend and colleague, Bill Brookes. Bill was an integral part of our organization and the
trusted business partner to our CEO, Sandee Ogilvie for over 27 years.
Bill was such a big part of our organization, and always ready to give expert advice, or just lend
a helping hand. Bill was a Stanford graduate and had the most brilliant mind like no other. His
people skills were unique; and his sense of humor was unrivaled. He always had the answer, to
any question asked and gave so much of himself to all of us.
Our weekly staff meetings and Board of Director meetings will never be the same, as Bill
contributed great ideas and provided constant encouragement. He has been with AJTE every
step of the way and while he will always be with us in spirit, his absence is felt on so many
levels.
Rest in Paradise, Bill. You are forever missed.
